Hamlet

This is Hamlet  as a Great Dane or is it a Great Dane dressed as Hamlet or was Hamlet really a Great Dane to begin with?   This was done for "The Shakespeare Alphabet Book" by Ehren Ziegler and
Shannon Sneedse.  Strangely this book isn't all dogs as you might expect from me.  There is a Beagle
posing as Romeo and of course Hamlet here but the rest are a variety of animals.  I had so much fun
illustrating this book.  I'm hoping to do another one soon.

What was Shakespeare thinking?  They made such a cute couple.

Oh yeah, just add a little more of that vile smelling stuff and a pinch of weird and I think we have it.  A lovely little batch of fresh spells.  Ummm, what a glorious aroma.  We three should throw caution to the
wind and Roll in it.  What a wonderful thought, I'm so happy I'm a dog.

I'm a Snowdog; see how much I look like my snow buddy - I'm the one on the right.  We're waiting for Christmas, for Peace & Goodwill and Joy and we're waiting for more snow!

Rat Terrier

Is Santa coming?  My stocking is hung; it's on the gate by the house so Santa won't miss it.  I'm waiting. . . will it be tonight?  How much longer?  Will I get a ball,  will he remember how much I want a bone?  I was pretty good this year.  There was a little incident but that was actually the cat's idea so I'm sure it won't count.

Hey, I think I hear sleigh bells . . . I think, I think, oh yes, I can smell Reindeer.  Santa is on his way!

Christmas Bloodhound

Ummm, what's in the package?   Smells good; is it cookies, Christmas cookies?  Yummy!  I can smell sugar cookies with red & green frosting.  Let's get it opened, lets start celebrating Christmas.

Bliss

I'm a Happy dog.  Sooo happy.  I get to lay in the grass, smell the flowers and watch the clouds float by.  I'm just going to stretch out, wag my tail a little and live in the moment!  Sigh!!!

Scotties are high energy dogs who love chasing, barking and digging.  They are confident with their own ideas about how things should be.  They are loving little dogs and they are SO cute!

Here I am in the middle of August, working on Christmas cards.  We're having one of our infrequent three day heat waves here in NW Oregon so thinking about a cold, snowy day in December helps cool things off.  I had a request from a customer in Sweden for a Doberman with uncut  ears.  I think they look really cool with their natural ears.

Motorcycle Dogs

I wonder what kind of motorcycle a German Shepherd Dog would ride? Would it be an antique or the big, new noisy kind? I think each German Shepherd would have their own ideas about this. Some would probably prefer a pickup and some would go with a sports car. Their are lots of options here.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi

If dogs could give Valentine cards (or even wanted to) I would think this would be the kind they might choose.  Of course, they could have an entirely different thought about this.  But I can really see a Pembroke Welsh Corgi saying, "Hey, that's me.  I look happy.  I could tell my human roommate how I feel with this card."  That would be a nice surprise.  Or if you live with a Corgi you could be the sender.  I think dogs do like Valentine cards.

Bearded Collie

The Bearded Collie is Happy, Outgoing, Friendly, Playful and Drippy.  Anyone who lives with a bearded dog knows exactly what that means-- it means - please wipe your face before you kiss me.  But who cares if you wind up with the drippy face, you know you're loved!

Pit Bull Terrier

It's that time of year again - so busy doing Christmas cards I have neglected my blog.  I'm not sure what my excuse has been for the rest of the time but all that matters is that I'm finally blogging.  It feels good to blog again. So, here's my Pit Bull.  I've only known one so I'm not exactly an expert.  Her name was Soda Pop and she was the sweetest girl.  She kept everything under control at the ranch where she lived and she did a darn good job.  It wasn't all business with her though,  she liked to kick up her heels and have a good time, just as much as any dog.
